Original 9x12 watercolour paper for unique texture and interest or,
11x14 premium artist paper, 50lb. acid free

COST: $40.00-$120.00 depending on the complexity and number of persons included in each sketch. Most average 1 person portraits are at the $40.00-$60.00 level
Please email me at the link provided to verify the image requested to be sketched. Good quality emailed photos of images can be sketched if enough light and shadows are seen.

SUBJECT AND PHOTOGRAPH HINTS:

The subject can be someone from a magazine, or from a personal photograph. Photos can be camera images scanned or from the internet. Please remember if sending in your own personal photographs, that you are sending them in at your own risk of loss in the mail! It is far better to make a copy of the photograph and send that  instead. A sharp, well detailed email photograph or a few sent to me also work well, as long as the detail is sharp, and in good lighting. Natural lighted photographs are by far the best if possible. I can also work from black and white photographs, as long as an indication of the natural colouring of the person's eyes, skin and hair are provided. Also, a good idea of the persons personality will add character to my finished sketch or painting.
Once completed, the image will be scanned and an email will be sent for your approval. If you have pre arranged payment, the sketch will be shipped, and if I wait for your payment, the item will be shipped upon receipt of payment.
Please allow approximately 2-3 weeks for the completion of your portrait, if a standard portrait. Standard sizes are usually 9x12, or 11x14. Please allow 4 weeks for an oil portrait to be completed. I treat each finished portrait sketch with a "final fixative" spray, and oil paintings if requested with a treatment spray finish..

PORTRAITS

Portrait commissions can be done using the same process as described above.

My standard portrait size for gallery wrapped canvas is 9x12 and 10x13.  Please specify if you prefer gallery wrapped or flat board.  For 2 person artwork, 16X20 sized gallery wrapped canvas is usually used. Please ensure that the standard oil painted portrait cost for standard size ranges from $60.00-$150.00 depending upon complexity and number of persons. Shipping is  $10.00/us $12.00/cnd
Please email me for any questions regarding portrait size and cost. Following the above method, please ensure that the colouring of the subject is very evident in the photograph.. If working from a black and white photo, please provide other colour images of the same persons, and if that is not available, I will need to know the person's natural skin , hair and eye tones.     Every attempt at accuracy will be done. I can also combine persons on a canvas from 2 separate photos provided the images to work from are clear photos.
I do not sell mattes or frames so please keep this in mind when ordering. I can give suggestions on colours for frames that you purchase.
